The National Day of Prayer

By Liaf

You came to the right place if you participate in the "national day of prayer" every May and are praying for results. As it now stands, millions of Christians (and even people of other faiths) pray for this great nation of the United States every May during the "national day of prayer". There is an official Christian web site guiding Christians what to pray for along with inspirational messages. The atmosphere conveyed is that of crying out to the Lord God to bless this nation and to forgive us.

I want to achieve a few goals in this message, namely, I want to point out some of the themes that the national day of prayer presents, I want to compare that to our true purpose here on this earth scripturally (as this site has been pointing out), and then I am going to encourage Christians (and even non-Christians) everywhere to pray for essentially the same things, but with greater understanding such that doing so will be done with faith instead of having a begging tone to our prayers. In other words, we will pray with more faith and understanding as to why we are here and our purpose instead of praying as a kid (in spirit) to the effect, "We've been bad boys and girls. We're sorry and restore our blessings again." or, "Help so-and so leader have wisdom to guide this nation." The problem with most Christians, and due to no fault of their own, is that they do not know why our "fate" in history even allowed us to sing "America, America! God shed His grace on thee!" Why do we have all these blessings? The general concept is that we were all once good Christian boys and girls coming over from wherever to seek God, and God happened to like this so He blessed us--- out of the blue. They do not even believe we were prophesied in the Bible. Well, when one plays chess without understanding that the goal is to capture the king, the game just becomes a moving and jumping exercise with no motivational joy, except to maybe keep one's own pieces from getting jumped (and a selfish motive at that).

With all this being said, I want to start off with my first point regarding the themes. I want all of you that participate in the "national day of prayer" to listen to what we say here instead of the spiritual leaders for once. Maybe, just maybe, there is more to the "national day of prayer" than you realize and are being taught. Some of the themes (and partial quotes) that are broadcasted on the official web site include:

The thoughts continue on to say that God shed His grace on us, and supplied what we have, but we became too self-centered and self-sufficient. The resulting prayers are in essence as I already said---- asking God to restore our blessings again and a tone or repentance. Is there anything wrong with this? Nothing, per se. However, let us understand the reason we were blessed to begin with. As I stated once in a prayer message awhile back found on this site, the whole idea is that God Already has blessed us because of the promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We chose to leave the blessings, thinking that we lost them. Instead, we should be thanking God for what He already has given to us instead of asking for something back that was not taken away---- sometimes withheld, due to our sins, but not taken away! The analogy I used was calling the power company to restore the power to an appliance we unplugged ourselves! The power is still there, but we chosen not to use it. I suppose if we unplug enough appliances and keep harassing the power company that they may get sick of it and truly cut us off if we are too stupid to stop blaming them for the power loss we caused ourselves until we were smart enough to understand what the real problem was.

I won't beat around the bush any longer. I will tell you point blank if you happened to wander onto this page by a search engine. I will tell you what this is about. The reason the United States and all its citizens from all nations are blessed is because we were prophesied in the Bible! The people of the United States are physically descended from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! One specific tribe, the tribe of Joseph, was promised great material blessings, and these same people were to be a blessing to all people. More on the biblical prophesies shortly. First I want to deal with the critics who will fill your heads with mushy inconsistencies (examples of what they may say in red).

"Another British-Israel site about the ten lost tribes of Israel! Stay away from it! It's crooked and perverse doctrine!" For sure, I had many accusations thrown against me personally as well as heard all the arguments against (true) believers of this biblical teaching. Let me tell you something. You may not like to hear this, but stay with me for a while. The truth is that the Christian leaders know this about Israel, but many are too rebellious or perhaps too spiritually obtuse to understand the significance to let you in on it. They say such things like:

It is RACIST!

No, it is not racist if one believes ALL that we teach instead of taking FRAGMENTED things we teach to support their view. In the Old Testament, a stranger could live amongst Israel and adapt to their ways and be treated according to the LORD as one of the Israelites. What do we teach here? It is found in Ezekiel 17:22-23 regarding the throne of David:

Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent: In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.

This chapter is symbolic. As we clearly teach, FOWL OF EVERY WING is a vast DIVERSITY of people. Nations with that freedom of diversity is one of the marks of Israel. I can't help if some splinter groups take this sound bible teaching and somehow turn it into racism.

"IT IS ANTISEMETIC! They are trying to take away the blessings to the Jews and say they are not God's people!"

Since when? NOT on this site! We CLEARLY TEACH that the Jews are from the tribe of Judah. Again, some groups may claim the Jews of today are not descended from Abraham, but not everyone who believes in the lost tribes hold antagonism toward Jews. As a matter of fact, there is a Jewish scholar from Israel who believes as we do here, that Britain, some European nations and the United States are descended from Israel. That blows that theory. On my main page, I claim why I no longer participate on Christian forums. The reason is because I am not a glutton for punishment like some leaders have their cowering congregants held. I got tired of the downright abuse. In a like manner, I was accused of being racist against the Jews. For crying out loud! I used to date a Jewish woman ten years my senior, and I would have married her if we would have gone far enough (she dumped me) but I was the only Christian she'd listen to BECAUSE SHE COULD SENSE MY LOVE FOR THE JEWS. Even after saying that, the abusive forum roller just ignored me and kept rambling (or should I say babbling like Babylon) on that I hated Jews. You see, they believe what they want to believe totally ignoring what I said. And then we are the ones that "twist scripture" and the facts?

"ALL PROMISES ARE "YEAH" IN CHRIST AND ARE FULFILLED IN HIM! You don't need many nations, material greatness, and what-not to fulfill the promises to Abraham."

I have an interesting thought. Most of the fundamental, evangelical crowd believe that the physical promises to the "Jew" are still valid, i.e., that they will physically be restored in the land of Israel in the end times, and indeed, we are seeing that come to pass now. In addition, Christ had to come from the lineage of Judah from King David. These were all Abrahamic promises that were promised and carried out literally but apply to the spiritual realm as well. So pray tell, if God promised Abraham that he would become many nations, then why must that be applied spiritually only (e.g., Christians from many nations) and not literally like the rest of the promises? That is not proper exegesis. Indeed, if even one promise, such as physical descendants spreading all over the earth, does not come to pass, then the Messianic promises go out the window by default! Either what God promised applies to ALL or to NONE. You can't have half being literally fulfilled and the other half fulfilled in an abstract manner! When we get down to it, when cornered with the challenge to the question, "When did Israel become many nations?" or, "When did Israel control the gates of their enemies?" our Christian leaders cannot answer that challenge! You see, if one must discredit "British-Israelism", then at least have a plausible and intelligent substitute as to what the promises really mean and don't give me any "spiritual fulfillment" crap!

With all this said, let us briefly enlighten you, the dear reader, just what was promised to Abraham, what happened to Israel, and what were the prophecies pertaining to the characteristics and fate of Israel in the end times. However, instead of repeating myself as the accusers and challengers wanted me to do on forums, I will give links to this site. I trust that if the reader is genuinely interested, that the time will be taken to read these links. Otherwise, the reader has the freedom to choose their begging tones to their prayers and go back to where they came from (with lots of uncertainty) if these messages are merely dismissed. USE YOUR BACK button to return to this page--- I did not want each link to open a separate window.

1. Israel was to become populous, spread abroad, and become MANY nations. CLICK HERE

2. Israel was to possess the gates of their enemies (hence, if we follow after God, we need not worry about enemies, terrorists, and the like). CLICK HERE

3. King David's throne on earth is eternal to all generations and his dominion was to be worldwide. CLICK HERE

4. With the Assyrian captivity, Israel was to lose their identity, migrate elsewhere, become "sons of the Living God" (c.f. Hosea 1:10-11) and become a light to all nations, thus fulfilling the blessing in Genesis 12:3. Compare the difference between the Jews, and the Israelites in this eye-opening article >>> CLICK HERE

Again, I encourage you to take the time to read each message, even if one per day--- I did not overwhelm you with too many at once. These will give you an idea as to what you need to really know about this nation--- why we are here and where we came from.

Lastly, I now want to encourage you to pray with these new insights in mind. Don't forget to thank the Lord for these revelations to you--- you did not come upon us by accident! That was simple enough! But if you notice, if you took these messages to heart, you probably won't be praying "please return our blessings again and protect us." Rather, you ought to be praying, "Thank you Lord for giving us these blessings as you promised our fathers, and help us to use them wisely." It's the same way with getting saved. A man is not saved by begging, "Save me, Lord." Rather, a man is saved when he finally can say with assurance, "Thank you Lord for dying for me and choosing me from the foundation of the world." The concepts are similar---- that is, unless you want to ignore these messages to go back to uncertain begging again.
