This is going to be somewhat of a "gripe" message. However, it is griping with a point--- so please read on. I'm getting very angry, and maybe even a tad afraid, that the message of the Lost Tribes is getting lost by the same ministries that are less noble in manner or always crying poverty.
One ministry that I learned a lot from in my earlier days (but their link has now been removed) was subject to scandalous type issues when the pastor died. His teaching was on the mark, although I cannot say much for his eccentric behavior in his latter years. This resulted in a third marriage to a 30-something woman (young enough to be his granddaughter) with a very questionable past to lead the church. Now, I am smart enough to not let that bother me, as people repent and God CAN change one's heart. But the real dumb-@$$ thing that bothers me is watching her she can't teach for $h!t. If that was not enough, she claimed she owned the copyright to his work, and pulled the messages off their web site. So, no teaching, no link from our end. I partly blame that on the pastor. Is that what he thought of his ministry? Is that what he wanted as a legacy? Of course, money was involved--- need I say more? I started really wondering what was up with a church where mass numbers soon exited. Maybe the leader did go south, in spite of a good beginning and sound, intelligent teaching.
Likewise, another pulled their site, and other is aiming that way--- all because funds are low. This does not ring well with me, because this is the type of major crap that puts that drop of cyanide in an otherwise healthy glass of milk. The "grave evangelists" that populate our airwaves (and there's those new positive-thinking ones as well without an ounce of gospel) will not remember the sound teaching, but to "prove" that the Lost Tribes teaching is wrong, merely point to the leaders. That was the same mentality I refuted. One cannot judge the doctrine by the person teaching it, for God's Word even says an ass had spoken the word of the Lord to Balaam. However, that is unfortunately the criteria used to dismiss something--- throw the baby out with the bathwater. And frankly, I'm getting sick and tired of it.
This site will remain free. And it will stay free until the Lord calls my brother and I home. Our wives may get the passwords, but let me say this---- they will not upload a single letter or punctuation mark. The worst that will happen is the site will go off if nobody cares to keep it going. But we will see to it that this will not happen, at least in our generations. We don't have control beyond that---- only the Lord. So--- do the smart thing. SAVE COPIES OF THIS SITE NOW, just in case. You won't hear us banging you like the others with "copyright infringement" which is no more than just a subtle restriction of the freedom of speech in our opinion. Some of these preachers like to bang with lawsuits if they can (and for that matter bang other ways as well). THEN.... if ol' Liaf and Morfessa ever go "off the air", feel free to repost them. Only do one thing..... don't claim sole authority on the content and then sue someone else for copyright infringement. Not unless you want to be severely haunted.
I want to conclude that I am not sure what becomes so expensive about upkeeping a site. A ministry with tangible things to upkeep, yes. But a site--- not too expensive. That should be the last thing to go even if the church is gone, the people dispersed, and the title deed to the farm was transferred. That's because a web site is virtual space. One does not need a physical location to even stay. Heck, I think Jesus would have had a web site even though he had nowhere to lay his head! Could have put announcements to the effect where the next sermon on the mount would have taken place. Our costs for this site is minimal---- about 38 cents a day! The only thing I can see is if one adds a lot of bells and whistles to their site that costs more. But what are you, dear reader, here to do? Play video games, log onto a forum, or read the Word of God? If you want to play video games with Jesus icons moving around attacking demons, you are in the wrong place. If you want to log on and become a troll, you are in the wrong place. This is one reason why we never learned (nor cared to learn) how to embellish a web site that way. The communication is messages to you, and emails to us. That's it!
So don't let anyone bamboozle you into believing they don't have the funds to run a web site. At 38 cents a day, if they can't afford that (and even consider it an offering to God), there's something radically wrong, even if they sold everything else! You'd think they would welcome the opportunity to have a web site as the one last way to reach countless thousands in spite of losing everything else!
One last ADDENDUM HERE--- We want this message to have some teaching value. What is that? If a web site is that cheap, we want to encourage others to have their own web ministry. We never thought that the "common man" would have this sort of access to so many people. The Internet is a wonderful tool if used properly. Who would have though it would all come to this? What a wonderful way to spread the Word!
