A Tribute to Queen Mum

(and here goes the news media again!)

One cannot have a site devoted to God’s promise of a continual monarchy through King David and not take some time out to be touched by the recent loss of our Queen Mum. She was a great woman that brought dignity and respect to the monarchy. She was a unifying matriarch of the commonwealth. She helped King George VI to take over an awesome responsibility that neither one of them originally expected to have when his brother abdicated. And during World War II, the King and Queen stood by the people through all the tragedies of the war including the blitzes. The commonwealth was captivated by her loyalty and loving-kindness. Many, I’m sure, regarded her as their “mum”. And because of her position of power coupled with her love of everybody, what a comforting feeling that must have been for many! I must confess she reminded me of godly women who attended our church that I could look up to and feel secure with. I was fortunate enough to also have several Great Aunts with similar characteristics. I looked up to Queen Mum, too. I could not help but to smile at the different hats that only Queen Mum would look good in, and then say, “God love her.” She had my heart, too. And I must also say that although her death made me sad, yet I praise God that he gave her a long life and endowed her to become a stabilizing power both within her own household as well as the commonwealth.  I have NO DOUBT that she will be here on this Earth again one day ruling and reigning with our Lord Jesus Christ--- I could just imagine her giving the Lord a little friendly advice about ruling a Great Kingdom with a wink in her eye. I think the Lord would listen just as he listens to our prayers, too. Who could turn away the Queen Mum with so much experience to offer?

You may be wondering about the second part of our title. What does that have to do with the tribute we just gave? Just after our Queen Mum’s passing, her funeral services were not yet completed when the question comes up in a news talk show “So what will become of the monarchy? Is this the end of the monarchy?” They said that with a glee in their eye while “commentators” and so-called experts on the subject (even from Britain itself) claimed that this is the end of the monarchy. Some said the Queen will abdicate. More often, they said the Queen will reign until her death at which time the monarchy will cease. All I have to say is that’s fine respect to the Queen Mother who put her every effort into the monarchy. What do you think she would have to say about these peoples’ lack of faith in what she stood for?  For those “whatevers” that claim Queen Elizabeth will abdicate, they do not know her well at all. She swore as a covenant to enact her duties as Queen until the end. It is her birthright. Don’t listen to critics who say she will abdicate. Just because they do not place much value in any commitment does not mean the Queen will not follow through on hers. I would not be surprised if the likes of her critics were married and divorced several times around (in their “marry-go-round”)--- such little value and respect do they place on anything sacred. They do not know the meaning of endurance--- they are quitters. What about the next generation? What if Charles and/or William refuse the throne? God will supply somebody. I’m positive. And for Biblical prophecy to remain true, there must be a King on the throne at the end times. Why is that? Let’s take a look at the Throne of David in end times.

Luke 1:32-33 says, “He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Now, do you suppose Jesus will return to an unoccupied (or non-existent) throne? With our message regarding the three overturns of the throne of David, it was pointed out that in Ezekiel 21:27 God said, “I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.

The subject of that passage was the throne of David. We already had a message out that this throne went from Jerusalem, to Ireland, to Scotland, and finally to Britain in the three overturns. Then God said it would not be overturned any more (and it shall be no more) until “he whose right it is”, i.e., King Jesus. When Jesus comes again, God will give “it” (i.e., the throne) to Jesus. You cannot give something that does not exist my friend.

If you turn to Isaiah 22, you will read this passage:

Isa:22:15-25: Thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,

What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?

Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.

He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord's house.

And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:

And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.

And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.

In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.

This is a historical passage that has end-time application. Or as we often say, “History repeats itself.”  What happened was that Shebna ran the government while King Hezekiah was ill and could not do it himself. Shebna evidently did a lot of things behind the King’s back without his knowledge and may have supported a secret rebellion against Assyria. He lived high off the hog with the wealth while poverty was all around him. He was not true to the throne of David--- his idea was to do things his way instead of contacting the King. Needless to say, God would stop Shebna’s “reign” with captivity where he would die. He would replace him with the faithful Eliakim who in end-time prophecy represents Christ. How do we know this? Jesus quoted that same Scripture in Revelation 3:7, “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth”.  Likewise, we can find the passage about the “nail” in Zechariah 10:4 when that passage is talking about the house of Judah. In addition, the same Zechariah passage speaks of a “corner” in conjunction with this nail. I Peter 2:6-7 identifies that cornerstone as Jesus Christ. Now I must respectfully ask, if Shebna is “occupying” the throne when Eliakim takes it, then in end times the throne must be occupied. Otherwise, how can Jesus be “clothed with thy robe”?

In our prophecy series, I’ve made mention of the importance of the “seven times” punishment to Israel if they disobeyed God’s Laws. Leviticus 26 has blessings and warnings to Israel depending on whether they obeyed or rebelled. Similar blessings and curses can be found in Deuteronomy 28. What many may not realize is that this “seven times” indicates an actual time that Israel and Judah would be punished. Some of the seemingly contradictory pronouncements are because some of the punishments apply to the Jew (such as being few in number) and others apply to the house of Israel since God really saw them as separate. The mechanism is basically simple. If they obeyed, God blessed them according to the birthright promises. If they disobeyed, war, famine, beasts, exile and even death resulted. However, God made it very clear that he would still remember his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Leviticus 26:42). Theologians see this “seven times” punishment as having a long fulfillment of 2520 years, after which Israel would become blessed again (in the “Lost Tribe” days). On this site, this was the angle we primarily approached when interpreting this prophecy. However, in the time of the end, this will repeat itself during a short fulfillment of the “seven times” prophecy. This will be the “time of Jacob’s trouble” alias the “Great Tribulation” lasting a literal seven years.

Antichrist will come on the scene peacefully as we saw in our prophecy series. He will seem to be the answer to the world’s problems, especially the turmoil in the Middle East. He will gain power over a ten-nation confederacy although he will subdue three of the ten kings of that confederacy. He will allow the Israelites in the land to start their temple sacrifices again upon making a seven-year covenant with them. This is old stuff to you if you have read this series. However, in the unveiling of these events, the future King of England will make an agreement with Antichrist thinking of saving the throne and the commonwealth. He will be willing to become a vassal King just as the kings of Judah in the past and will plot against “Assyria” (where we know the Antichrist will come from) just as Shebna once did. History does indeed repeat itself. His plot to submit the throne to Antichrist to save the commonwealth’s skin will not work! (See Hosea 12:1) What will happen to the King and his people? Deuteronomy 28:36 says, “ The LORD shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.” The same thing will happen as it did before! Then Hosea’s prophecy will happen again when it is said, “For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince [in these days we may call such a person our “president”] , and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim”----- CAPTIVITY!

“I thought you taught that the throne of David is forever? Now you’re saying they will be without a king?” a critic may ask. Primarily, we teach that this prophecy was fulfilled the first time during Israel’s first exile when the house of Judah still had a Davidic King. In the end times, this disorganized array that Israel will be in means that their King will be in captivity. Notice the subject is the “children of Israel” abiding (to live) without a king in their presence. This passage does not say there is no king! There is still a king with some of them somewhere--- we’re dealing with a transition here. I heard critics claim that the throne of David was vacant because between the Babylonian captivity and the time that Jeremiah transplanted the king’s daughter took several years. Good gravy! Give the poor girl a chance to travel to her appointed destination! Is the throne vacant because the King or Queen must attend to himself or herself like any of us people do? No. This is not a vacant throne because there is still a son of David in that position. This exile comes under the “warning category” of II Samuel 7:14. The exiled King is just feeling the rod and stripes of men as prophesied.  I never said that the Davidic descendant would always have a life in a rose garden--- on the contrary, David’s house was prophesied to have much violence in it due to his sin. (II Samuel 12:10). I’m merely saying that in spite of everything (good or bad), God would keep the throne going by always having a Davidic descendant there to occupy it wherever there were people of Israel. For any critic out there, I say stop living in fairytale land where there are castles on green paradises and thrones garnished with jewels and monarchs without a spot or stain on their perfect attire. An eternal throne does not imply that at all.

In the very end when Jesus comes to take the throne of David, Jeremiah prophesied:

Jeremiah 30:7-10: Alas!  for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.

Even the apocryphal book of II Esdras states the disarrayed nature of Israel and the different punishments that Israel will endure just before their return to the Holy Land at Christ’s Second Coming (again, do not confuse this returning to the Holy Land with the natural “man-inspired” one just before and during the Tribulation days before Antichrist breaks his covenant with them mid-way into the Tribulation):

And there came much people unto Him [Messiah], whereof some were glad, some were sorry, some of them were bound, and other some brought of them that were offered

Yes, the British throne, the people of the commonwealth and even the people here in the United States are in for some trying times during the tribulation, but we will not cease to exist and there will always be a monarch for David’s throne. Ultimately however, the restoration of Israel in her land under the risen King David (Christ) will be her glorious future.

I hope somebody from the news media will one day read this message, because what’s stated in this message is what will happen to the British throne.
