The Relation Between Aquarius and Pisces

By Liaf

At the time of this message, it is nearing Christmas 2009 and at this time of the year, Christians in general tell the Christmas Story of that famous Star guiding the wise men to the Lord. But our readers here already know that God’s Word was told as a story in the stars. This is no surprise. After all, Psalms 19 states… The Heavens declare the glory of God… Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge… and it is to this truth that even famous theologians such as E. W. Bullinger devoted much time studying the stars and writing books about them.

The idea of an actual Star depicting Christ’s birth is not foreign to scripture as even the rebellious Balaam prophesied rightly by saying, “…there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel…” to which he also said of Israel’s posterity, “Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel?” Ah yes! They shall indeed multiply as the promises of their father Jacob in Genesis 48:19. Yes! Ephraim and Manasseh shall multiply abundantly and the marginal rendition is “like fishes”. So, to this end, we dedicate this short message of the relationship between Aquarius and Pisces (and their associated ages) to our readers. If there is nothing else to be remembered about this entire star series, at least remember the importance of these two constellations as they depict the fate of God's chosen people Israel, and the ultimate victory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Yes! To be fishers of men and become like the men of Joseph, so blessed that he becomes like fish! No wonder the ancients associated Israel with the sign of Pisces. Pisces depicts two fish. One fish swims upwards toward the pole and the other along the ecliptic. And in God’s people there were always those of a higher calling who “desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.” just like the fish that points toward the pole. Then there are the earthly and populous chosen people in the flesh, going along the ecliptic, still multitudinous and powerful, but awaiting that great Day when saith the LORD, “I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Is it no wonder Jesus spoken many times in terms of fish? The five loaves of grace and the two fish of Israel resulted in 12 full baskets for all Israel as the age of Pisces started with the first coming of the Lord. Yes, Israel was to be fed in this age, like fishes, and the prophecy of becoming many nations during the same time. But the age now wanes, and the age of Aquarius comes. As the Lord prepares to return a second time soon, the blessed prophecy of putting the Law in their inward parts will soon transpire. Thus, we see from Aquarius’ never-ending urn of living water now flowing into the mouth of one fish in the constellations. This fish represents the reunited houses of Israel where we may most assuredly say regarding Aquarius, “I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring….
