Leo is the end of the great zodiac circle, and this is the where the circle comes around again to meet back at Virgo. Leo is a beautiful constellation with the head of the lion resembling a backwards question mark and the end (or tail) part is shaped like a triangle. It trails as the last brilliant constellation following the rich display of winter stars. It is moderately high in the east about 8:00 or 9:00 PM in the mid-winter at the time of the composition of this message.
There is no confusion about this constellation as all societies see this as a lion, albeit sometimes upright, other times couchant. The Egyptian name, Pi Mentekeon, means, "pouring out" (c.f. our later cup called Crater, or a cup of wrath). In the Denderah zodiac, Leo is treading on a serpent and indeed his feet are over the constellation Hydra that we will discuss soon. Additional interpretations of this lion is one "who conquers". In Hebrew, he is called Arieh, which is not only the name for a lion, but a lion that is hunting down his prey! In the Syriac, he is called Aryo, which means a "rending lion".
If we look to the star names, the brightest star is called Regulus, which means, "treading under foot". Earlier in the series, we discussed the four stars relating to the four constellations resembling the faces of Ezekiel's cherubim. This fairly bright star, Regulus is one of them correlating to Leo, the Lion (and the lion face). Also, we should be aware by now that Leo is the standard of the tribe of Judah, the tribe in which the Kings of Israel would come. Another star in Leo's tail, Denebola means, "The Lord or Judge who comes". Another star called Giebha is Arabic for "the exaltation". Another star called Zosma means, "shining forth". Other star names indicate a lion which seizes, tears up, and puts down his enemy.
Is there any more needed to be said about Leo? This is none other than the Lion of the tribe of Judah, which as the Bible says, "has prevailed". (Revelation 5:5)
The feet of Leo are over this long constellation as if victorious over it. The star alpha Hydrae was once called Al Phard, or, "the separated, put away". Another star, Al Drian means, "the abhorred". And the star Minchar al Sugia means, "the piercing of the deceiver".
This is telling none other than of the serpent and his destruction. As with Cetus in Aries and Draco in Sagittarius, this last book also tells of Satan and his defeat by the Victorious Leo, the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
Crater is a thirteen star constellation over Hydra. It is a cup wide and deep--- a cup of wrath! In addition, the number thirteen represents apostasy. The Scriptural counterpart is found in Revelation 14:10:
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.
Nearby is the constellation Corvus, its original name being Oreb, which means, "raven". In the Denderah zodiac, it is called Her-na, which literally means, "breaking up the enemy". It consists of nine stars. Nine is the number of judgment. The bright star in its eye, Al Chibar means, "accursed", i.e., as in a curse inflicted. Further proof of this is in another star's name, Minchar al Gorab (Arabic), which means, "raven tearing to pieces". Another star name, Al Goreb (also Arabic), means, "raven".
This raven represents the birds of Revelation, feasting on the enemies of Christ and His people. These enemies are the people of the Great Enemy, Satan. One does not need to look far in the Bible to see other precursor images of birds feeding off of the enemies of God's people, but in Revelation, this feast is the feast of all feasts!
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
And that, friends, is the story of the Bible in the heavens, starting with Virgo, and ending at Leo! The story started off with the promised seed of the woman after the fall of man, unraveled throughout history to tell the same Bible story, and ended with the victorious return of Jesus Christ and the destruction of all the enemies!
Can we all now understand why what we teach here is so exciting to us? There is no conflict in the testimony! God's Word is truly in stone, in the heavens, in written word as told by His prophets and apostles, and ultimately expressed in Logos, the incarnate Word of God!
