God's Word in the Stars (Our Series: Part III- VIRGO)

By both Liaf and Morfessa

We hesitated in doing a series for a long time because we figure you can just read the reference books supplied at the end of the main star series index page. But then again, we decided to do this series once everything else was taken care of "just for the record" that our site teaches the same thing the theologians teach who believe in this subject. Mostly, we take off from the book E. W. Bullinger (Liaf's favorite), but mind you, Seiss, Capt, etc. say essentially the same thing because this theology is based upon the star and constellation names and their etymology. A word means what it means--- there is not too much variation one can put to it. From that, Scripture usage of the same word meanings and context tell the story. By the way, to throw in a side note here, ALL of these theologians believe in the Great Pyramid as well. However, we know for sure that Bullinger, (and we're not sure about Seiss), DOES NOT believe in lost tribes. That's a head-scratcher for us since the Great Pyramid CLEARLY manifests the "pyramid inch" unit of measure. We've shown before how the Hebrew cubit, the pyramid inch and the English system of measure are related. That very definitely ties Israel and us together in and of itself. We believe that if you believe the testimony of the stars, one is forced to take a clear look at the pyramid since it's intrinsically tied to the stars. And if one believes the testimony of the pyramid, we get into lost tribes. Nevertheless, this absence on the part of Dr. Bullinger does not sway our open mindedness regarding his expertise on the subject of the stars. Truth is truth, even if coming from a person who is only half there in regards to another topic. This does not mean that the area under consideration is not true. With that being said, let's start with Virgo.

VIRGO

Virgo is oftentimes portrayed as a prostrate virgin holding a branch in her right hand and an ear of corn in her left hand. You can find this constellation in the summer sky if you can find the "big dipper". If you follow the direction of the arc of the handle of the big dipper, you come across to the bright star Arcturus (about 30 degrees away from the end of the handle). We'll talk about that star shortly. If you follow along that same arc about another 30 degrees, you come to the star Spica, the brightest star in the constellation of Virgo. It will be in the Southern skies somewhere if you live in the middle Northern latitudes like Liaf does here. Hence, the saying, "Arc to Arcturus and spike to Spica from the Big Dipper's handle." Let's look at the star names of that constellation to get an idea of the story it's telling.

We get a glimpse of the significance of the virgin when God promised in Genesis 3:15, And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Needless to say, this same woman, who is prostrate representing fallen humanity, is holding a branch. The star name in the other hand, Spica, means "ear of corn". An alternative name in Arabic renders the name Al Zimach which means "the branch". The star epsilon in the other hand holding the branch has various names as Al Mureddin (who shall have dominion) or Vindemiatrix which is Chaldee for "branch who comes". And what does the Bible say about this branch? Zechariah 3:8: Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH. Isaiah 11:1: And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. Jeremiah 23:5: Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. And many other examples are found in the Bible. Hence, we have a two-fold witness of the same concept, "the branch" who would come through the seed of a woman (a virgin).

We will stop here for the moment, but in our next message, we will talk about three constellations associated with Virgo. As a matter of fact, each zodiac constellation has three more associated constellations that expand on their story.
