Nothing went right all day long. It seemed that if something bad were to happen, it would find me. I drove my daughter and wife to the supermarket and waited while they shopped. There I sat reviewing all the problems of the day. I casually looked up and noticed the sun setting in the West. The colors were blending from pinks to purples, and greens that I had never noticed. As it aged, and I watched in awe, it dawned on me how much I lost reflecting on all the bad things when God had put something glorious like this before my eyes. We sometimes lose sight of God's treasures. I got out of my car and just stared across the field watching it's ever-changing colors. What a gift. It was God's way of saying, "Look for the wonderful things I give you and forget about your troubles. Something wonderful always awaits you." The sun now dipped below the horizon and produced a final glitter of reds beneath the deepening blues of the sky. One small puffy cloud lit up from the now invisible sun in a beautiful reddish orange hue almost as if saying goodbye. I didn't notice my daughter and wife returning but soon heard my wife ask what I was looking at. "The sunset?" she questioned. "No," I replied, "God's lesson for the day." "What did you learn" she said. "That tomorrow will be a grand day indeed if we don't lose sight of all He's given us." We drove home under another awesome sight....a sky full of radiant stars, and for myself a peace that replaced the problems of the day. I thanked Him that night for all He had shown me and for His Greatest Gift to mankind, His own Son.
